"Dhancharcha" is a Hindi word that roughly translates to "financial discussion" or "financial conversation". India is home to 17.5% of the world’s population but nearly 76% of its adult population does not understand even the basic financial concepts.Dhancharcha as the name suggests is a campaign about empowering the less privileged rural communities of our country and educating them about financial services, banking facilities, loans, digital know-how, insurance and other government financial schemes. Not everyone is equipped with this knowledge and it is important to learn about it.The campaign is conducted door to door by the volunteers of RKMF and a few places through Mobile vans with a screen showing a 45-minute animated audio-visual. The film educates the audience about the many financial, banking and insurance-related topics. Our volunteers answer questions after the film is screened. The target audience is divided into several groups such as school or college students, villagers, urban poor and industrial workers.Dhancharcha is funded by Hero FinCorp as part of their CSR initiative and implemented by the Raman Kant Munjal Foundation. This campaign has covered several locations in Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh in past 3 years benefitting more than 6 lacs plus people.
